Makers Landing Play-Furniture

How can we weave more stories and play into spaces?

As part of a broader effort to create a more inclusive and family-friendly environment at Makers Landing, we were briefed to design a suite of play-focused furniture that weaves storytelling, movement, and creativity into the space.

The intervention included modular seating elements that could be easily reconfigured to support collaborative and open-ended use, as well as a series of custom rocking chairs designed to introduce rhythm and sensory play. A key feature was an interactive shelf that hosted Book Dash storybooks alongside custom activity sheets, offering children self-directed opportunities for reading, drawing, and exploration.

Designed with durability, accessibility, and delight in mind, the furniture enhances the spatial experience for young visitors and their caregivers, contributing to a more playful, intergenerational atmosphere within the culinary and cultural hub of Makers Landing.
